Gratitude Journal

In-Room Five we have started doing gratitude journals. A gratitude journal is something where you write 3 things you are grateful for.  Mrs Drumonnd brought us all a notebook from Typo. One thing I am grateful for is my cat, Wilson. I love my gratitude journal especially the quote on the front. This is my journal:

Learning About Nets!

For maths in room 5, we made shapes out of paper. We did this to learn about nets. We had a lot of shapes to chose out of. I chose a cone and a triangular  prism. I loved making these and it was really fun. Here are mine.

Koala Haiku

This morning we got to do three haikus about anything you want. The topics I chose were  Koalas, Flowers and the colour rose gold. I chose my koala one to publish. Here is mine.

Our Assembly!

On Friday Room 5 did their assembly. It was about stereotypes and not to judge others by what they look like, their gender and their religions. We did a dance to a song called Individuality. We also did a play. We did different conversations about people saying things that aren't always true. In my part, I went to ask some boys if I can play soccer with them. After someone says I can't because I am a girl but that is not true. Our assembly was really fun and I am sad that I will never do one again.

My Sun Poem

The sun is like a light bulb
Blazing Brightly in the sky.
It is a fireball
Orbiting slowly around the galaxy.

The sun is a barbecue
Sizzling and scorching on a hot day.
It is a yellow smiley face
Shining source of energy.

The sun is a gold coin
Shimmering light on the ocean.
It is a big ball.
Boiling and shiny on the world.

Marae

Yesterday Good Shepherd School went to the Unitice Marae. We got welcomed on by Whaea Lynda. She was a really good singer. We had to take our shoes off before we went in. We met Papa Hau and he told us a story about one of the stories of the carvings. The story was about a man who wanted to come to New Zealand. But the others didn't want him on the waka because he had a bad knee. He was sad but then a stingray came and said hop on. He couldn't believe it. He hopped on and came to New Zealand. When he finished the story. We went and had a yummy morning tea. We went bake in the Marae and learnt a song and hand coordinations counting to seven in Maori. Then we went outside and the boys did an amazing haka. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Fair Stall

This year is the good shepherd school fair. The school has decided to let each class have a stall and sell a product of our choice. In Room 5 we all got into groups and came up with a product to sell. My group is me, Soeun, Kayano, Hannah and Annika. We chose to sell sherbert. There is a criteria that we have to follow. The product has to be cheap, easy to make, environmentally friendly, profitable and has to be stored. We had to make a name for our product and we came up with Kandy Klash. We made a logo, here is our logo.
